After taking a private luxury tour with LAdventure Tour , be sure to work up an appetite! The Los Angeles area has so much to offer when it comes to burgers, we here at LAdventure Tour can offer many suggestions! Here are a few of our favorites.
Stout
Located in the heart of Hollywood, Stout is a gastropub and a very tasty exception to the trendy and overpriced eateries nearby. The brioche bun provides a solid framework for the thick, hearty burgers, the best of which is the Stout Burger. Stacked with a hunk of deliciously stinky cheeses like blue and emi Gruyere, and topped with rosemary bacon and caramelized onions, there is no other burger in the city like it. The Goombah is also a local favorite with crispy prosciutto and parmasiano flakes that will send your taste buds on to another dimension. Try the sweet potato fries, some of the best in town. Prices are more than reasonable at around $10 and the restaurant is open till 4 am, though if you want to wash down your burger with a liquid stout make sure you order no later than a couple of hours before closing time.

The Apple Pan
An L.A. institution since 1947, Apple Pan’s burgers are arguably the finest example of the California-style burger. Hungry patrons come here for two of the finest burgers in the city – the Hickory Burger and the Steakburger. The hickory burger, a no frills, back-to-basics type of burger, has an audacious tang from the sauce while the Steakburger replaces the tang with the sweetness of the relish. Expect an extremely generous portion of lettuce, cheese, pickles and mayonnaise to be added. You’ll feel like you’ve time-traveled to the past as not much has changed in the nearly 70 years of The Apple Pan’s existence. The Zagat Survey features The Apple Pan in various Top Lists, including Burgers Tops and Best Buys. Very affordable pricing but cash only, so you might want to stop by the ATM first.

The Golden State
The Golden State menu isn’t overly complicated and the menu may not look too ritzy but it’s the little touches (and high-quality ingredients) that make all the difference. Their signature burger, aptly named “The Burger,” uses Harris Ranch beef (butchered by The Huntington Meats of the original Farmer’s Market), topped with Fiscalini Farms cheddar and applewood smoked bacon. The white cheddar is actually cooked onto the burger, not just plopped on top as the burger is placed on the bun. Ten dollars gets you this perfect burger and one high-quality, tasty side dish — fresh French Fries, Golden State Potato Salad, or Jalapeno Cabbage Slaw. An extra dollar gets you the incredibly popular Sweet Potato Wedges or Persian Cucumber Salad. If you love a great burger you’ll love discovering The Golden State.

The Father’s Office
This upper-scale eatery and brew joint has become famous for the Office Burger. The tangy caramelized onions that blend so perfectly with the sharpness of the Gruyere and Maytag blue cheeses is a burger lover’s delight. It’s served on a roll instead of a traditional hamburger bun and dressed with arugula instead of iceberg lettuce. The Office Burger is a creation of chef Sang Yoon who has owned the restaurant since 2000, while adding his own personal touches to the menu. Father’s Office does not allow any substitutions on its burgers because, frankly, this chef knows what’s best for you. A second Farmer’s Office was opened at the Helm’s Bakery building in 2008.
