Hike up the Hollywood Hills with its breathtaking views
Los Angeles is not known for its hiking but it should be. If you want to get away from the glitz of Hollywood and the movie stars then take a short hike up the hills overlooking Los Angeles.
Outstanding deals:
Griffith Park – The largest urban park in the United States and about five times the size of Central Park in New York City. The view that you get at the top of any trail you choose from is definitely worth it; absolutely breathtaking. Hike to the historic Griffith Observatory (site of James Dean’s Rebel Without A Cause) in 20 minutes, see the Hollywood sign and photograph Los Angeles at its finest.

Runyon Canyon – Just a stone’s throw away from the Hollywood strip. There are a number of trails to choose from, all with panoramic views of the city of Los Angeles. Look east and you’ll see the Hollywood sign and downtown Los Angeles and then there’s Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and the Pacific Ocean to the west. On a clear day you’ll even see Catalina Island.
