Southern California is full of beautiful holiday light displays celebrating the Christmas season. From Candy Cane Lane in Woodland Hills to Wakefield Court in Santa Clarita, we know where to find the best lights in Los Angeles. These are the kind of displays that transport you to a virtual wonderland! Neighborhood Displays
Christmas Tree Lane, Altadena
From the 210, take the Arroyo Blvd. Exit toward Windsor Avenue. Turn left onto N. Arroyo Blvd. N. Arroyo Blvd. becomes Windsor Ave. Turn right onto W. Woodbury Rd. Turn left onto Santa Rosa Ave, which is Christmas Tree Lane.
Turn off your headlights and drive through three very long blocks of large trees sweeping over the street, highly decorated with colored lights. I’ve been told this is very worth the drive.
Christmas Tree Lane ends at Altadena Dr. Take a right on Altadena Dr. and turn right on Allen Avenue. Proceed to Mendocino Lane, turn left.

Balian House, Altadena
Home to the famous ice cream manufacturer, this estate sits on 3.5 acres and is decorated with 10,000 colored lights and numerous holiday depictions.
Take N. Allen Ave SOUTH until it stops at E. California Blvd. Turn left on E. California Blvd. to S. San Gabriel Blvd. Turn right on S. San Gabriel Blvd. to W. Huntington Dr. Turn right on W. Huntington Drive and continue to St. Albans Road. Turn right on Saint Albans Road, which is Christmas Tree Lane. (536/C6)

Christmas Tree Lane, San Marino
Known as the sister street to Christmas Tree Lane in Altadena, it is said to be even more spectacular than the Altadena display of lights, this street is backlit with estate homes, whose homeowners have gone all out for the holidays. Meander the streets of San Marino and enjoy the sites, then continue on to Old Pasadena for a respite. There you will find a cup of hot cocoa or a full meal nestled amidst the season’s decorations.
Return to W. Huntington Dr. and turn left. Turn left again on S. San Gabriel Blvd. Turn left on E. California Blvd. Turn right on S. Fair Oaks Ave. and continue into Old Pasadena.

Hastings Ranch, Pasadena
This neighborhood really get into the spirit here from mid-December to January 1 with carolers and musicians to entertain the guests! Lights are on from 6-10pm daily, but best time to visit is between 7-9:30pm.

Candy Cane Lane, Woodland Hills
Lubao Avenue and Oxnard Street
Candy Cane Lane in Woodland Hill is a must see eight-square-block area which becomes an annual celebration of lights and figures. Take the 101 west, exit on Winnetka Ave., and make a right then an immediate right onto Martha Street. Come during the week, as weekends are very busy. These are the most amazing, elaborate displays you’ve ever seen.
Block-long Light Tunnel, Reseda
The tunnels straddle the sidewalk on both sides of the street and extend almost the entire block. Park on Valerio near the school and enjoy the walk through the tunnels.

Santa Clarita Neighborhoods
Driving around town, one can’t help but notice the extraordinary light displays put on by private homeowners. As much as we would love to include all of these displays, we are limiting this list to streets with three or more exceptionally lit homes. Here are a few you won’t want to miss. We’ve listed them in order for an easy route to follow. For a real treat, put on a Christmas CD during the drive.

In 2012, one of the homeowners told us that over twenty residences decorate for the “giggles of little ones who come to see the lights.” Renamed “Homestead Holiday” for the season, you’ll find lights strung across the streets connecting these well-decorated homes.

Seco Canyon to Boxwood Lane to Deodar Place to Ash Ct. The whole cul de sac gets in on the act. Look for Homer Simpson peeking out of the upper window at 22514 Ash Court (2014). Theme changes each year.

Lights and music show. Copper Hill Drive to North Park Drive to Angelica Place. One of our viewers wrote in, “these streets are majorly decked out with Christmas lights. Virtually every house on the street had a massive amount of lights…one with even a whole village.”

Crown Court Circle – Valencia
Located near intersection of McBean and Decoro. The eight houses on this courtyard all get together for an amazing light display. Every Friday night, you can find them outside with Hot Chocolate for anyone who stops by.

Located off Hillsborough Parkway
Head north on Grandview, west on Welshfield Way, and you’ll find Essex Place and Meraweather Place off Clearidge Dr. Reindeer Lane is spectacular!: This is the cul de sac where the kids will find all of Santa’s reindeer scattered throughout the displays. But be on the watch for Rudolph, because he moves every night!

Clifton Place – Valencia
If you follow Grandview Drive north, as the road curves south the name changes to Hillsborough Parkway, you’ll find Clifton Place off of Hillsborough. The cul de sac here is fully decorated with lights strung across the street. This is the location where we’re told Edison removed the lights from the street lights.

Check out all of the connecting side roads including the loop of Cuestport Drive/Weatherfield Drive (Update: While in previous years this area was fully decorated, there were just a few sporadic homes decorated.)

You won’t miss this incredibly decorated home. Usually we restrict our listings to neighborhoods of at least six homes well decorated, but this home deserves your time to drive over and see it!

If you’re coming from Landon Place, follow Hillsborough South across Decoro Dr. Turn west on this small street, which will take you to Chesterfield Court and Shelburne Way

Homes are elaborately displayed on this cul de sac, and colored lights are strung across the street.
Coming from Tossano Dr, go southwest on Arroyo Parkway, south on Spring Hills Drive, west on McBean, and over I-5. The name of the road changes to Stevenson Ranch Parkway. Follow Stevenson Ranch south to Poe Parkway, turning left on Thoreau Way.

Colored lights are strung across the street, running much of Brooks Circle, creating almost a ‘tunnel’ effect.

With awe-inspiring features providing a brand-new spin on holiday lights in Griffith Park, L.A. ZOO LIGHTS sets the Zoo’s enchanting environment aglow with breathtaking displays, among them thousands upon thousands of LED lights, flurries of illuminated snowflakes, stunning 3-D animated project ions and glittering light tunnels. A fanciful menagerie of animal characters include mischievous animated monkeys scampering through the grounds, a glowing 130-foot snake coiled on a roof, a hillside with snowboarding “lizards,” 3-D animated elephants wearing colorful holiday sweaters, an origami-type rhino lit from within and so much more. Twinkle lights and red ribbons adorn the trees, lavish holiday displays decorate the shop windows, poinsettias are planted in the center divider, and the infamous Pretty Woman hotel, The Regent Beverly Wilshire, is bejeweled with lights and interior decorations. Make a day of it and stop in for Afternoon Tea at the Regent. The hotel has a Holiday Desk available to answer questions concerning their festivities. Plan ahead for next year’s Nutcracker Tea, as reservations are sold out one year in advance, or the Christmas Carol Luncheon, when the hotel brings snow to the property for the kids.
